During the Watergate era, politicians involved in extra-marital affairs (infidelity) generally were not treated by the media as if the public had a right to know, but now this type of behavior is seen as appropriate by the media to expose and disseminate as part of their investigative responsibilities, Do you guys believe these events are news worthy, why or why not?

They are worthy to politically biased news agencies. The news has turned into a political machine over the years. Readers are votes.
Yes they are newsworthy, and yes, I do like to know. It all helps in making up my mind as to whether the politician in question is going to get my vote or not. I don’t believe I would judge him/her simply on the basis that he/she has cheated on his/her partner, but that would go into the equation. And by the way, it’s ERRANT, not ERRAND. And also by the way, I’m from the UK, not the USA, but I guess the question and my answer are relevant to both, or indeed any country.
